So many people have asked to help organize our cool donations, so we’ve set up Hot Mess nights as social gatherings where we can sort things out, together! We lovingly call our boxes of unsorted donations “Hot Mess” - because they’re full of great stuff, but a bit too chaotic to put out in the shop!
Each Hot Mess event will have a different theme (fabric, ephemera, beads, yarn, etc) and we’ll hang out together and try to restore some order to this chaos!
Although this event is free, we ask for registration ahead of time to get an idea of numbers for the night (limit of 12 people, ages 14+). To thank you for your sorting help, each participant may take home a small bag of material from that night’s sorting.
This event is for sorting EPHEMERA. Ephemera includes all kinds of paper things that weren’t meant to last forever - cards, photos, maps, sheet music, antique papers, etc. We hope to make cute packets of easy-to-buy collage materials for the shop so that these items can get back out into the world without being destroyed!
